Kepatuhan Pengobatan Pasien Diabetes Melitus Tipe 2 dengan Medication Adherence Rating Scale-5
Abstract
Adeherence with the use of drugs in chronic diseases such as diabetes mellitus is very important in the success of therapy. This study aims to determine the description of medication adherence in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus in several Yogyakarta City Health Centers and Bantul district. This study used observational the descriptive method with a total of 200 patient,. The inclusion criteria in this study were patients with a diagnosis of type 2 diabetes mellitus with an age ≥18 years and complete medical record data, while the exclusion criteria were patients who could not communicate well and pregnant patients were breastfeeding. Data on patient medication adherence was obtained using medication adherence report scale questionnaire (MARS 5) and sociodemographic data were obtained from interviews and medical records. Description of patient compliance and sociodemographic descriptive. From the results of the analysis of 200 patients, the results of patients had a low level of adherence of 114 (57%) where the main reason for noncompliance was that patients forgot to take medication 84 (42%). Based on this study, health professionals, especially pharmacists are expected to emphasize medication adherence to achieve good clinical outcomes and optimal quality of life of DM patients.
