Abstract

ABSTRAK

Sirih merah (Piper crocatum) adalah tanaman endemik Asia Tenggara yang banyak digunakan masyarakat sebagai pengobatan tradisional. Penelitian uji aktifitas antibakterifraksi daun sirih merah terhadap bakteri Eschericia coli dan Staphylococcus aureus.Fraksinasi menggunakan heksana, etil asetat, dan metanol. Daerah hambat fraksi heksana, etil asetat, dan metanol pada bakteri Eschericia coli berturut-turut sebesar 8 mm, 9 mm, dan 7 mm dan pada bakteri Staphylococcus aureus berturut-turut sebesar 12 mm, 13 mm, dan 9 mm. Fraksi etil asetat merupakan fraksi yang memiliki aktifitas antibakteri terbesar dibandingkan fraksi heksana dan metanol.

ANTIBACTERIAL ACTIVITY TEST OF SIRIH LEAF LEAF

 

ABSTRACT

Red Betel (Piper crocatum) is an endemic plant of Southeast Asia that is widely used by people as traditional medicine. The study of the antibacterial activity of red betel leaves against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus bacteria. Fractionation using hexane, ethyl acetate, and methanol. Areas of inhibition of hexane, ethyl acetate, and methanol fractions in Escherichia coli bacteria were 8 mm, 9 mm and 7 mm respectively and in Staphylococcus aureus bacteria 12 mm, 13 mm and 9 mm respectively. Ethyl acetate fraction is the fraction that has the greatest antibacterial activity compared to hexane and methanol fractions.
