Abstract

ABSTRAK

Buah belimbing wuluh (Averrhoa bilimbi L) merupakan salah satu jenis tanaman buah tropis yang dikenal di Indonesia. Selain dapat dijadikan sebagai sayur maupun obat-obatan buah beimbing wuluh (Averrhoa bilimbi L) juga dapat dijadikan sebagai produk olahan bernilai ekonomi tinggi. Buah belimbing wuluh (Averrhoa bilimbi L) mengandung senyawa aktif flavonoid dan triterpenoid yang dapat menyembuhkan penyakit infeksi yang disebabkan oleh bakteri khususnya bakteri staphylococcus aureus yang terdapat pada kulit. Ekstrak kasar buah belimbing wuluh (Averrhoa bilimbi L) memiliki kandungan senyawa aktif flavonoid dan triterpenoid sebagai antibakteri terhadap staphylococcus aureus dan E.coli dengan konsentrai ekstrak 300, 350, 400 dan 450 mg/mL. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui aktivitas antibakteri formulasi sediaan gel hand sanitizer buah  belimbing wuluh (Averrhoa bilimbi L) terhadap staphylococcus aureus dengan menggunakan analisis data kualitatif dan data kuantitatif meliputi uji organoleptis, uji PH, uji homogenitas, dan uji daya hambat antibakteri. Proses ekstraksi dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode maserasi dan selanjutnya dilakukan pengujian antibakteri dengan metode sumuran/lubang. Hasil pengujian menunjukan bahwa keempat formulasi dapat menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri staphylococcus aureus dengan diameter zona hambat pada formulasi I yaitu 21,67 mm, formulasi II yaitu 23 mm, formulasi III yaitu 25,33 mm dan formulasi IV yaitu 30,67 mm.

THE FORMULATION OF EXTRACT ETHANOL OF

BILIMBI FRUITS (AVERRHOA BILIMBI L) GEL HAND SANITIZER AS ANTIBACTERY TOWARDS STAPHYLOCOCCUS AERUS

 

ABSTRACT

Bilimbi (Averrhoa bilimbi L) is one of tropical fruit plants known in Indonesia. Besides can be used as a vegetable or medicine, bilimbi fruits (Averrhoa bilimbi L) can also be used as high-value processed products. Bilimbi fruits (Averrhoa bilimbi L) contain active compounds of flavonoids and triterpenoids that can cure infectious diseases caused by bacteria, especially staphylococcus aureus bacteria that is found on the skin. A rough extract of bilimbi fruits (Averrhoa bilimbi L) contains active compounds of flavonoid and triterpenoid as antibacterial to staphylococcus aureus and E.coli with extract concentration 300, 350, 400 and 450 mg / ml . This research is aimed to find out the antibacterial activity of prepared formulation of hand sanitizer gel of bilimbi fruits (Averrhoa bilimbi L) to staphylococcus aureus by using qualitative and quantitative data analysis including organoleptic test, pH test, homogeneity test, and antibacterial inhibition test. The process of extraction is done by using a maceration method and Furthermore, antibacterial testing is done by the wells / hole method. The test results showed that the four formulations can inhibit the growth of staphylococcus aureus bacteria with the diameter of the resistor zone in the formulation I is 21.67 mm, the formulation II is 23 mm, the formulation III is 25.33 mm and the formulation IV is 30.67 mm.
