Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui aktivitas antibakteri sabun cuci tangan ekstrak bongkol pisang kepok terhadap bakteri Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 25923 dan Escherichia coli ATCC 2592. Sehingga, dapat digunakan sebagai alternatif bahan alam dan meminimalisasi penggunaan zat sintesis yang dapat menyebabbkan hipersensitifitas jika digunakan dalam jangka waktu yang lama. Formulasi sabun cair pada penelitian ini menggunakan variasi konsentrasi ekstrak bongkol pisang yaitu formula I (1%), formula II (2%), dan formula III (3%). Metoda pengujian aktivitas antibakteri dengan menggunakan metoda difusi dengan mengukur Konsentrasi Hambatan Minimum (KHM). Nilai KHM yang diperoleh dari pengujian terhadap bakteri Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 25923 adalah formula I 12.35 ± 0.83 mm, formula II 13.23 ± 0.35 mm dan formula III 15.23 ± 2.03 mm. Sedangkan, pada bakteri Escherichia coli ATCC 25922 formula I 12.04 ± 0.18 mm, formula II 12.71 ± 0.30 mm dan formula III 13.66 ± 0.88 mm.
