Health Education using Buzz Group and Audio Visual Against Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever Prevention Behavior
Abstract
Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever or DHF still was being problem in Indonesia especially in North Sulawesi, Taratara Tiga District, West Tomohon. This problem has to be resolve because can cause death. This study aimed to compares the two method of health education using the Buzz Group method and the Audio Visual method for dengue prevention behavior. The main contribution of this study is to improve the self awareness of prevention behavior of DHF sufferers to participate in health education using interesting method and to reduce the numbers sufferers DHF. By introducing health education using interesting way such as Buzz Group and Audio-Visual method will improve the prevention behavior of the DHF sufferers. This study use Quasi Experiment Research with One Group Pre and Post Test with Control Group Design. Respondents in this study amounted to 30 respondents using purposive sampling technique with the Buzz Group (n = 15); Audio Visual (n = 15). The instrument used a questionnaire, audio-visual video and leaflet. The statistical test used was paired t-test and unpaired t-test with a significant value of p <0.05. It reveals that health education using the Buzz Group method and Audio Visual method are effective in preventing dengue fever behavior with a mean value of 64.47, rising to 76.80; 58.47 rose to 75.33 (p-value = 0.000). There is no differences between health education using the Buzz Group and Audio Visual for the prevention DHF.
