Analysis of Compliance Factors Consuming Iron Tablets in Adolescent Girls

Abstract

Anemia is a disease caused by a lack of hemoglobin levels in the blood. The impact of anemia on young women is a decrease in the concentration of learning, physical fitness, and physical ability. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors associated with to adherence of adolescent girls consuming iron tablets. Quantitative research methods with cross-sectional design. Respondents in this study were adolescent girls in Bhayangkari Junior High School in Bandung with a sample of 134 respondents using consecutive sampling techniques. Data was taken by distributing demographic data questionnaires, family support, support of health worker,s and adolescent girls consuming Fe tablets. The validity test of family support 0,235, support of health workers, and teachers 0,345 and adolescent adolescent girls consume Fe tablets of 0.652. The results of the study were processed by univariate, bivariate and multivariate analyzes. The results showed that the factors most related to adherence were family support (p-value 0,000; OR 0.237; 95% CI 0.20-2.674) and support of teachers and health workers (p-value 0.000; 0.938; 95% CI 0.088-11.777). Regular health counseling and monitoring cards are needed to improve adolescent girls' compliance with Fe tablets.
