Abstract

Diabetes Mellitus is a disease that has one of the clinical manifestations in the form of frequent urination at night with a large amount that affects the quality of sleep and blood sugar levels in patients with diabetes mellitus. Quality sleep in DM patients is indispensable in repairing damaged cells including beta cells that have a function in producing insulin. The purpose of research is to analyze the influence of meditation healing exercise accompanied by mozart music to sleep quality and blood sugar levels of type 2 DM patients. The method in this study was Quasy Experimental with pre and post design tests. Sampling techniques use a total sampling by picking up respondents who meet both inclusion and exclusion criteria with a sample amount of 52 people. The instrument used to measure the quality of sleep is with a PSQI (Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index) questionnaire while blood sugar levels use blood sugar or Glucometer levels. Data was analyzed using statistical tests i.e. Paired T-Test and Independent T-Test with significance p < 0.05. The results of the analysis showed that there was a difference in sleep quality and significant blood sugar levels between the control group and the intervention group with P-value = 0.000. MHE accompaniment of Mozart Music has a positive impact on sleep quality as one of the interventions in improving the quality of sleep that can be done routinely even daily especially for patients with type 2 diabetes.
