Dukungan Keluarga Mempengaruhi Self Care pada Pasien Diabetes Mellitus

Abstract

Self care in patients with diabetes mellitus is an important measure for the prevention of acute and chronic complications and requires continued care. This study aims to determine the relationship of family support with self care in patients with diabetes mellitus at the Tamamaung Health Center in Makassar City. This study uses a cross sectional study design. Data collection tools used in this study were questionnaires. The determination of the sample is done by purposive sampling technique. The total sample in this study was 41 patients. Data were analyzed using the Fisher Exact Test statistical test with significance level α <0.05 to determine the relationship between family support and self care in patients with diabetes mellitus. The results of this study indicate that there is a relationship between family support and self care in patients with diabetes mellitus at the Tamamaung Public Health Center in Makassar City (ρ = 0.003). There is a relationship of family support with self care in patients with diabetes mellitus at the Tamamaung Health Center in Makassar City.
