Increasing the Nutritional Status of Children Age Through the Morning Breakfast

Abstract

High calorie needs in school-age children are often not met due to lack of nutritional intake in each daily meal portion. Food consumption and nutrition contribute greatly to the nutritional status of children and their health. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of breakfast habits on the nutritional status of school-age children. This study was an corellation study with a cross sectional design, a large sample of 32 children with a simple random sampling method, using a questionnaire. The analysis used is the Spearman rank. Nutrition status data obtained by measuring body weight and age and body mass index were presented with a Z-score. Body mass index (BMI), breakfast data obtained with interviews with respondents. The results showed a p value of 0.000 which indicates the influence of breakfast habits on nutritional status.
