Abstract

ABSTRAK

Dukungan family caregiver akan menunjang kesehatan lansia secara optimal. Salah satu penunjang kesehatan lansia adalah terjaganya personal hygiene.  Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan peran family caregiver terhadap pemenuhan personal hygiene lansia di kelurahan Ngilir kabupaten Kendal. Penelitian menggunakan metode survey analitik dengan menggunakan pendekat cross sectional. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah seluruh lansia yang mengalami gangguan personal hygiene di kelurahan Ngilir Kabupaten Kendal, yang berjumlah 45 orang dengan pengambilan sampel pada penelitian ini menggunakan teknik total sampling, instrumen yang digunakan adalah kuesioner dan analisa data yang digunakan univariat dan bivariate dengan uji chi-square. Hasil menunjukkan terdapat hubungan antara dukungan family caregiver terhadap pemenuhan personal hygiene lansia (p=0,000). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, dapat disimpulkan dukungan family caregiver dengan kategori baik sebanyak (73,3%) dan pemenuhan personal hygiene lansia dengan kategori baik sebanyak (77,8%), maka dari itu peran family caregiver berpengaruh terhadap pemenuhan personal hygiene lansia lebih baik. Keluarga diharapkan dapat memperhatikan, merawat, menjaga dan membantu para lansia dalam melakukan personal hygiene.

RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE ROLE OF FAMILY CAREGIVER ON THE PERSONAL HYGIENE FULFILLMENT IN ELDERLY

 

ABSTRACT

Family caregiver support will optimally support elderly health. One of the supporting health of the elderly is the maintenance of personal hygiene. The study aimed to determine the relationship of the role of the family caregiver to the fulfillment of elderly personal hygiene in the Ngilir village, Kendal district. The study used an analytical survey method using cross sectional approach. The population in this study were all elderly who experienced personal hygiene disorders in the Ngilir district of Kendal Regency, totaling 45 people with sampling in this study using total sampling technique, the instruments used were questionnaires and data analysis used univariate and bivariate by chi- square. The results show there is a relationship between family caregiver support for the fulfillment of personal hygiene of the elderly (p = 0,000). Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that family caregiver support is in good category as much as (73.3%) and fulfillment of elderly personal hygiene in good categories as much (77.8%), therefore the role of the family caregiver influences the fulfillment of elderly personal hygiene better. The family is expected to pay attention to, care for, maintain and help the elderly in conducting personal hygiene. Keywords: Role of Family Caregiver, Elderly Personal Hygiene.
