PERILAKU MENONTON TELEVISI DAN PERKEMBANGAN ANAK USIA SEKOLAH MENURUT PERSEPSI IBU

Abstract

ABSTRAK

Pendahuluan: Perilaku menonton televisi dapat mempengaruhi perkembangan anak usia sekolah. Penelitian ini dilakukan bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi hubungan perilaku menonton televisi dengan perkembangan anak usia sekolah menurut persepsi ibu. Metode: Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan deskriptif korelatif yang menggunakan kuisioner dalam pengumpulan data dengan jumlah 81 responden dengan karakterisitik responden, yaitu usia, pendidikan dan pekerjaan. Hasil: Tidak terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara perilaku menonton televisi dengan perkembangan anak usia sekolah menurut perepsi ibu, namun orang tua tetap harus waspada dan membimbing saat anak  menonton televisi (ρ= 0,176; α = 0,05). Diskusi: Saran untuk pelayanan keperawatan komunitas, perlu memberikan lebih banyak edukasi kesehatan untuk orang tua mengenai perkembangan anak usia sekolah dan perilaku menonton televisi yang harus dikontrol. Pemberian edukasi kesehatan dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan dan mempengaruhi perilaku anak usia sekolah untuk mengontrol perilaku menonton televisi yang lebih efektif.

ABSTRACT

Introduction:Television viewing behavior can affect the development ofschool-age children. This study wascarried outaiming to identify there lation ship of behavior to watch television with the development of school-age childrenas perceived by the mother. Methods: This research is descriptive quantitative correlative witht heuse of questionnaires in the collection of data by the number of 81 respondents with the characteristics of the respondents, namely age, education and occupation. Results: There was nosignificant association between television viewing behavior with the development of school-age children according to mother’s perception, but parents should remain vigilant and guide when children watch television (ρ =0.176; α=0.05). Discussion: Suggestions for community nursing services, need toprovide more health education for parents about child development and behavior of school age watch television to be controlled. The provision of health education to increase knowledge and influence the behavior of school-age children to control the television viewing behavioris more effective. Keywords: Behavior,  development, television, watch.
