The behavior of pesticides that are not recommended are skin irritation. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the use of pesticides with skin irritation of rice farmers in Dempelrejo Village, Ngampel District, Kendal Regency. This study used a quantitative type with cross sectional method. The population of famers in Dempelrejo village, Ngampel District, Kendal Regency is 465. The research sample used was 76. Data collection techniques used questionnaire measuring tools with interview and observation methods. The results showed that the characteristics of respondents based on age were mostly respondents aged ≤50 years as many as 44 (57.9%), male sex as many as 67 (88.2%), high school educated as many as 49 (64.5% ), using pesticides for ≤30 years is 70 (92.1%). Poor behavior of pesticide use was 66  (86.8%). Some respondents had experienced skin irritation as many as 57  (75.0%), the most complaints felt by respondents were itching and heat as many as 76 (100.0%), and most occurred on the back as many as 48 (63.2% ) There is a significant relationship between the use of pesticides with skin irritation on rice farmers in Dempelrejo Village, Ngampel District, Kendal Regency with a value of 0.003. It is recommended for farmers to pay attention to the use of pesticides both when storing pesticides, mixing, spraying and disposal of waste to avoid skin irritation complaints. ER -
